BEI Basic Prep Material Offered:
Option 1) ASL Terp Prep, LLC currently offers the BEI Basic Exam Prep Material calendar.
This calendar contains 5 weeks worth of testing material:
Week 1- Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive, & Sight Translation videos/text to practice.
Week 2- Different Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive,
& Sight Translation videos/text to practice.
Week 3- Different Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive,
& Sight Translation videos/text to practice.
Week 4- Different Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive,
& Sight Translation videos/text to practice.
Week 5- Different Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive,
& Sight Translation videos/text to practice.
Each Expressive Interpreting and Expressive Transliterating was designed
with the testing genres in mind,
and filmed at 110 words per minute (The BEI Basic exam rate).
With this calendar, you essentially get 5 full-length practice tests!

Option 2) ASL Terp Prep, LLC also offers the Online BEI Basic Prep Course
This 5-week long BEI Basic Prep Course is designed to inform prospective interpreters about the BEI Basic exam (the exam for hearing interpreters) and help them become comfortable with the genres that may be tested according to the BEI Study Guide.
Warm-up and practice pieces are designed specifically with the test in mind. Pieces are at 110 wpm (as is the test), the receptive practice pieces are filmed with a member of the Deaf community in Texas and a heritage signer/member of the Deaf community in Texas; and the Mock BEI Basic exam is filmed with a Deaf member of the Texas community for a more authentic mock exam experience.
Participants will have the opportunity to use a GoReact account to film themselves interpreting warm-up pieces, practice pieces in the BEI genres, participate in peer feedback, and receive a graded Mock BEI Basic exam at the end of the course.
